Description
This painting depicts the Pietà: the Virgin Mary weeping over the body of Christ after his crucifixion. Mary, dressed in red and blue, tenderly supports her son lying down, marked by suffering.
Emotion and light underline the sacred pain of this scene. The gilded wooden frame is decorated with olive leaves and a beaded frieze, bringing elegance and solemnity to the central religious scene.
