Small pillbox in 900 silver, circular in shape, from the Ottoman Empire, and dating from the 19th century.
Description
This pocket-sized object is decorated on the lid with three floral motifs chiseled and inlaid with black enamel, arranged on a hammered background with a vegetal or bark texture, characteristic of Ottoman finishes.
The perimeter of the body is also decorated with an irregular engraved pattern imitating braiding or organic work, offering a beautiful visual and tactile texture.
The hinged lid opens perfectly and reveals a patinated interior with traces of use.
The bottom of the box is sober, slightly domed, and bears a discreet “900” hallmark, attesting to the quality of the silver used.
