Olifant Stone Statue, Boyo, Drc, Zaire
Here is a rare ceremonial Boyo stone olifant (trunk) statue, very few of their objects have reached us. An interesting exposition of the detour of the worlds => BOYO This statue which also makes olifant, was placed after the funeral celebration on the tomb of the ancestor and they could therefore recall the spirit during later ceremonies. Very beautiful brown / black patina with many traces of use, the navel serving as a mouthpiece for the olifant and emits a powerful sound, I tested it! From a collection in the southwest of France.
