Superb Lega mask with a Yela influence, these two ethnic groups being neighbors in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, we find here the particularities of each group, the white kaolin, the almond-shaped eyes, the heart-shaped face and the extreme simplification of the Lega and the expressionist power of the Yela. Beautiful patina, height approximately 25 cm, circa 1950.
