"French Silver Table Bell, Marked Fray Fils Paris, 1875–1891"
A small but beautiful and elegant French table bell, made of solid silver with a brass interior. The bell still works, simply turn the brass knob on top clockwise. It stands on four small feet. It bears three silver hallmarks. On the side and underside, a Mercury hallmark. Also on the underside, the maker's diamond hallmark: Fray Fils, accompanied by two symbols—a hammer below the name and a crescent above. Fray Fils was located at 22 Rue de Pastourelle in Paris, active between 1875 and 1891. This is a truly elegant table bell, perfect for a desk or even as a butler's bell.
