Beautiful cast iron socketed axe dating from around 600-900 BC. The axe has an outer ring for attaching it to the tool. It is decorated with segmented edges and has a beautiful glossy patina.

Axes of this type were common in the UK, where they were widely used and excavated in past centuries.
