Biography Mario Abis (1924–2004) was an Italian artist born in Chioggia, active in the post-war modern art movement. An engraver and painter, he distinguished himself with his compositions combining geometric abstraction, architectural rigor and lyrical expression. He exhibited at several biennials in Italy, and his works are featured in numerous European private collections. His work is characterized by a great mastery of printmaking techniques, particularly etching and aquatint, which he explored throughout his career.
