The artist powerfully conveys the attitudes, gestures and intensity of the exchange, using a warm palette of ochre, green and pink tones. Maurice-Louis Savin, born in Moras-en-Valloire in 1894 and died in 1973, was a complete artist: painter, engraver, illustrator and ceramist. He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and then in Paris. His work was marked by great diversity: scenes from daily life, landscapes, human figures, but also frescoes and decorative creations. Savin participated in the decorative arts movement of the 1920s and 1930s, collaborating with the Manufacture de Sèvres and also producing ceramics. His works are featured in several French museums, including the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris.
