Large Louis XVI-style Fireplace Mantelpiece In White Marble And Gilded Bronze – Mesnard Bordeaux

An elegant Louis XVI-style mantelpiece set consisting of a four-column portico clock and a pair of matching cassolettes.

The set is crafted from white marble and richly adorned with gilded bronze decorations featuring laurel garlands, quivers, arrows, foliage, and pinecones, in the neoclassical style of the late 19th century.

The clock features an enameled dial signed “Mesnard” in Bordeaux, with Arabic numerals and delicate hand-painted floral decoration. It houses a Paris-made movement with a bell chime.

The perfectly matching lidded cassolettes rest on white marble bases and are adorned with beautiful openwork handles in gilded bronze.

The set retains its key as well as its original sun-shaped pendulum.

A highly elegant decorative piece, ideal for a mantelpiece, a console table, or a period-style chest of drawers.
