"German Em 34 Rangefinder (entfernungsmesser) Second World War Cxn Emil Busch"
Original German WWII EM 34 Rangefinder (Entfernungsmesser) – Marked cxn (Maker: Emil Busch, Rathenow) Excellent condition EM 34 rangefinder, used by artillery, Flak units and machine gun crews. Due to the small tripod, it was probably used for machine guns (MG 34 or MG 42). It appears to have been re-used after the war by the French army. The rangefinder has two original German plates: Plate A: +CXN 88138 EM34 Round plate B: Entfernungsberichtigung French text is visible on the black adjustment ring on the right as well as on the tripod locking knob. Green painted model, with original dark brown leather protective ends (one has a small damage, but it is repairable). Original tripod included. Clear and fully functional optics: Both distance measuring systems are operational – the main adjustment in meters on the right, as well as the fine adjustment visible through the eyepiece. The EM 34 works thanks to an internal system of prisms, mirrors and beam splitters that divide the image in two. By superimposing the two halves, the distance to the target can be precisely determined, indicated on a scale visible in the eyepiece.
Dimensions:
Width: 83 cm
Height on tripod: 42 cm
