Pair Of Italian Silk Frames 18th Century With Embroideries And Salt Dough Saints
Pair of antique frames with embroideries, rectangular shape, in ivory color silk satin with embroidery in cotton and gold lamé of floral elements and love knots.
Inside both frames, we find two oval-shaped half-bust effigies of saints, hand-made of salt dough (one broken and glued), decorated with the inscription on paper di più ss. Mart. The ovals are fixed on small panels covered in fabric, one framed by trimmings. These are devotional monastic Italian artworks dating back to the second half of the 1700s, coming from Central Italy.
