"Burmese Carved Monk Figure Early 1900s"
Burmese Monk figure in Carved Wood, Early 1900s Oriental sculpture made from a single piece of wood, restored with wax and a dark patina. The figure of the monk is seated on his knees, with his hands clasped together. The posture with hands joined in a gesture of greeting, prayer or spiritual humility is quite common in Eastern contexts.
It comes from a private collection in Lombardy and is in good condition.
