Pair Of Italian Gilt Wood Twisted Columns Late 17th Century
Pair of Italian gilt wood columns carved with raised vegetal motifs, Italian twisted columns integrally gold-leaf gilded and carved with vegetal and floral motifs. These are interior columns. They rest on modern cubes with gilded moldings, ochre lacquered wooden pedestals made in the last quarter of the 20th century. They date from the late-17th century and are in good condition; they are of Italian origin and come from a private collection in Milan.
The two bases measure 24 x 24 x 24 cm, while the circular column base, measuring 13 cm in diameter, has a central hole and top is not gilded, see photographic details.
Ideal as supports for sculptures, flower vases or as candle holders, these gilded columns are elegant decorative elements.
