Bolster Door Light, XVII Century. flag

Object description :

"Bolster Door Light, XVII Century."
The harnesses were very fashionable in the seventeenth century, small flying furniture, they were easily moved and used to support lights, torches or torches to see candelabra, they will be called later more pompously torch. The one we present is walnut and Louis XIII period, it consists of a central column turned by a twist between two small balusters, at each end is a turned and deeply molded plate. The set rests on three small turned feet. Some very small pieces are to report on the baluster. The bottom shelf was shortened on one side of about one centimeter (maybe to be tightened along a wall), we preferred to leave it that way rather than make a repair that seemed unsightly especially since its patina is superb. Dimension: height 78 cm. diameter trays 31 cm.
