This 15-strand fan is painted in gouachegouache on chinoiserie paper. It presents on the right sidean amusing and picturesque scene featuring a carriagebackdrop, animated by birds and butterflies, a carriage with a seatedis seated. In front is a perch supporting a few parakeets.a few parakeets, while at the rear a subject holds a parasol.is pulled by a spotted animal carrying antlers, mostprobably a fallow deer. On one side is a musicianon a branch, and on the other a butterfly on a flowering shrub.in bloom. On the reverse, two branches adorned with flowerswith flowers. The bone strands are chased and inlaid with silver.silver. The first and last strands are decorated with openworkgeometric motifs, also inlaid with silver and featuring aa female bust.
