Pair Of Gilt Empire-style Columns – Italy, 1980s

Elegant pair of fully carved and turned columns in the round, made of wood and entirely gilded with gold leaf (genuine gold), featuring a particularly luminous and rich finish. Inspired by the Empire style, the columns have a slender shaft with refined decorative reliefs at the base, set on a circular plinth with elaborate sculptural elements. The top is made of white marble, 41 cm in diameter.
They are gilded on all sides, making them ideal for freestanding display. These are handcrafted pieces, likely made in the 1980s as reproductions of antique models of great charm. Slight height difference between the two: one measures 102 cm, the other 101 cm.
