Yangqin Instrument, China, Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.

Yangqin Chinese dulcimer (揚琴), also known as the butterfly harp. Made of wood, with bone parts, steel strings, and wood and bronze fittings. The lacquer-covered lid features a hand-painted image of the Eight Taoist Immortals. This instrument is descended from the Persian santur, introduced to southern China at the end of the Ming Dynasty. Today, it is mainly used in traditional sizhu (絲竹) music from the Shanghai region.

The state of preservation is visible in the photos; some bone parts are loose. To restore its musical capabilities, the strings will likely need to be replaced and it will probably need to be restored by a specialist.
