Charles Pyne – Animated Lake Landscape – Watercolor – Late 19th Century – Signed
Artist: Pyne Charles (1842 - ? Grande Bretagne)
Very beautiful watercolor depicting a scene at dusk: on the left, a boat with its sail furled. In the center, a figure and its reflection. On the right, a white horse. A wide expanse of water bordered by rushes reflects a spectacular sky in its composition and its pinkish hues.
The work is signed lower right. It is in very good condition. There are some foxing marks, barely visible. It is offered in a modern frame.
Charles Pyne was exhibited in Suffolk between 1861 and 1880. The Victoria and Albert Museum owns one of his works. His watercolors have been the subject of numerous public sales.
