Bulldog Orchestra In Bronze, Vienna - Fin XIXème - Atelier Bergman
Exceptional set of 15 polychrome bronze bulldog musicians, forming an orchestra as whimsical as it is endearing. Each dog, frozen in a lively pose, holds its instrument with gusto: trumpet, drum, violin, cymbals… the entire brass band is gathered, ready to burst into a wild tune under the baton of conductor.
These miniature bronzes were crafted in Vienna at the end of the 19th century, in the workshop of Franz Bergman, renowned for his animal figures that blend realism with a touch of humor.
Stamped with the amphora-shaped “B” mark and “Geschützt Austria” under the bass drum players.
