Chinese Spice Box Lacquered Wood 19th Century

Large Chinese spice box estimated mid-19th century.
Of unusual shape, this heptagonal box is brown lacquered and decorated with gold decoration. Note that the gilding is two-tone, bright yellow gold and red gold, which gives relief to the composition.
This is an animated scene.
The background is composed of foliage and magnolias in bloom. The characters occupy the intermediate plane and seem to bring offerings to the tree in the foreground, the tree still being venerated in ancient Chinese tradition.
The interior reveals a series of 15 porcelain bowls whose artisanal manufacture is evident because they are not all the same size.
Although worn by time and use, the gilding and the white relief decorations of the backgrounds are still very present. Several bowls have chips or small cracks without real seriousness given the beautiful appearance of the whole and its age. The box also reveals age-related injuries, missing lacquer in places and cracking of the lid.
All these small imperfections are visible in the photos which are naturally part of the description.
This large box, 45 cm wide and 11 cm high, looks very good despite its great age.
