The Boreal model was created by Luc Lanel (1893 - 1965) in 1929. This designer is the designer of almost all of Christofle's Art Deco pieces.
The sobriety of the Boreal model makes it appear astonishingly modern. The elongated, flared handles are barely curved and highlighted by two flats along the length that widen as they descend to accentuate the flared appearance. The spatula is cut straight across with broken corners.
In all of Luc Lanel's creations, only the América model shows a real resemblance, except that the flats go around the handle instead of stopping at the corners.
The silver-plated cutlery set that we are offering is in very good condition and has a beautiful shine. Some pieces have micro-scratches without aesthetic prejudice.
You will find 6 dozen pieces of cutlery and 3 serving pieces broken down as follows:
- 12 table forks of 20.5 cm
- 12 table spoons of 20.5 cm
- 12 table knives of 24.5 cm
- 12 dessert/cheese forks of 18 cm
- 12 dessert spoons of 18 cm
- 12 teaspoons of 13.5 cm
- 1 soup ladle of 32.5 cm
- 1 salad service (2 pieces, spoon and fork) of 24 cm.
The basic cutlery set of 37 pieces is presented in a very clean case as are the dessert cutlery. Only the knives and salad serving cutlery are without container.
Do not hesitate, you are in the presence of a fairly complete set that we will be happy to increase as we discover more and as you wish !
