The mark under the object, entwined initials CT in green accompanied by the signature Tharaud in blue, indicates the period of manufacture between 1930 and 1945.
The domed lid is decorated with a scene on a blue background of three cherubs who seem to float on a cloud.
The technique used is the one dear to Camille Tharaud called "paste on paste" which gives a beautiful transparency to the subject in relief. The whole is just encircled by an irregular line of gold applied freehand. The container of a very beautiful milky white rests on four feet of the same blue as the lid.
The feet installed on the periphery rise in projection on the edge and thus delimit four white zones.
The interior is the same white and there are four hollow fire points at the location of the feet.
As I told you elsewhere about our crystal and silver candy box,..
"This little candy box will join your display case or better still will welcome the violet pastilles or honey candies of our grandmothers."
