In the West these pieces are still considered and used as planters.
This one is interesting because of its small dimensions but very balanced: height of 23.5 cm for an external diameter of 31 cm, an opening of 21 cm and a base of 18.5 cm. It has 40 facets, 20 complete hexagonal ones around the perimeter of the body in two rows and 20 with four sides instead of 6 at the top and bottom.
There are 8 different motifs, 2 per level alternating.
All are very fine and take up the traditional iconography of Imari, flowers and foliage, in the classic palette of cobalt blue and vermilion.
However, on the most visible row, with the largest facets, we discover the unusual scene of a seated figure contemplating a stork in a landscaped setting.
This beautiful object will be used alone, offering an elegant decoration to your interior or as a planter anywhere in the house.
