Rare Large Imari 19th Century Dish flag

Object description :

"Rare Large Imari 19th Century Dish "
Rare and very large Imari dish: rare because of its size, 48 cm in diameter, rare because of its graphics. What sets this piece apart from many others is the lightness of its palette. We are very far from the very pronounced cobalt blues and shimmering oranges of certain productions. The blues are pale and the orange tones very discreet apart from those used as the background of four reserves which contain a series of flowers and arabesques. The center of the dish is very discreet, containing two lotus flowers, a symbol of purity, separated by flower garlands. Four large reserves contain two by two a flowered basket and a bird of paradise, all in pastel shades of orange. This very beautiful Imari dish, which everyone knows takes its name from the exporting port of Japan, was made in Arita, a small town on the same island. The lightness of its palette, its graphics suggests that it is a piece from the first half of the 19th century, probably 1830 - 1840. With it, anything goes! It will join "fellows" on a wall in the middle of a collection or will sit alone in your entrance or living room. Another solution of choice ! It can be part of a magnificent pair with the barely different second one that we present on the other hand.
