Large Bronze Church Candelabra, 19th Century.
Large gilt bronze church candelabra, 59 cm high. A beautiful 19th-century piece with five lights.
Four lights are arranged on a highly openwork band adorned with scrolling foliage of vine leaves and bunches of grapes.
Each candle holder is supported by a slender cylinder divided into three sections decorated with vine leaves. The central section is magnificently embellished with a turquoise enamel background.
The stem supporting the uppermost candle holder is finely chased and adorned with three volutes that echo the rich decoration of the band.
The five drip pans, each in a pronounced cone shape, are decorated identically with acanthus leaves and buds.
The tripod base, ensuring impeccable stability, appears to be covered in scales and reveals, at the center of the two scrolls connecting the legs, the same turquoise enamel as the candle holders.
The linearity of the stem emerging from it is softened by the presence of a scalloped and chiseled cup at each end and a substantial ring decorated with foliage halfway up.
Despite its size, the silhouette of this candelabra is very balanced and light.
Displayed on its own, it will be a striking addition to your entryway or any other room in your home.
