Jugendstil Art Nouveau Wmf Silver Plated Fruit Set – Cut-glass Serving Tazza And 4 Dessert Bowl
Artist: Wmf
Very impressive early 20th century WMF 5 piece fruit set comprising a large serving tazza and four individual dessert bowls. The bowls rest on silver plated stands with fluted stepped bases. The stems and bases are trimmed with high-relief wheatsheaf borders. The cut-glass bowls are decorated with elegant roundlets around the edges.
Stamped with marks used between c. 1910 and 1925 - the running ostrich is set inside a rhombus with a two-line inscription WMF/G (Geislingen an der Steige) which in turn is placed inside a partly-dashed arch.
Made by WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik), Germany, c. 1910-1925.
1338 g
tazza - 21 cm tall, 24 cm bowl diameter, 12 cm base diameter
smaller bowls - 12 cm tall, 10 cm bowl diameter, 6 cm base diameter
Very good antique condition. Some light scuffing to metal commensurate with age; one small bowl has an internal crack near the base of the glass; another small bowl has a tiny chip to rim.
