Laugharne Glass, Wales, Vintage Cobalt Glass Vase And Perfume Bottle With Sterling Silver Overl

A rare vintage British studio glass set comprising a trumpet vase and a matching perfume bottle with its original stopper, handmade by Laugharne Glass, Wales, during the 1980s.

Both pieces are hand-blown in rich transparent cobalt blue glass and finished with a substantial sterling silver overlay, hand engraved with elegant flowering wild rose branches and finely detailed foliage. The perfume bottle retains its original cobalt glass ball stopper with matching silver decoration, while the vase preserves its original factory paper label reading "Hand Made by Laugharne Glass" together with the workshop's historic telephone number.

Established in Carmarthenshire, Laugharne Glass became internationally recognised for its distinctive combination of coloured hand-blown glass and heavy hallmarked sterling silver overlays. The workshop produced decorative vessels and perfume bottles in comparatively limited numbers before closing around 2010, making complete matching sets increasingly difficult to find.

The workshop's own literature described its sterling silver overlay as exceptionally thick and of a quality surpassing many nineteenth-century examples. This matching set is an excellent representation of late twentieth-century British studio glass craftsmanship.
