- Toiletry Box In Mother-of-pearl Marquetry And Ebony Fillet, 19th Century Ottoman Work
Toiletry box entirely covered with geometric mother-of-pearl marquetry and ebony fillets. The upper part lifts thanks to a golden brass grip button to reveal a rectangular mirror whose frame is decorated with a golden ribbon of trimmings then covered in blue velvet. We find these same materials on the tray, the velvet and the gold braid drawing a diamond. The inside of the flap is decorated with wallpaper with floral motifs. The side face is decorated with a drawer with a lock and key, inside we find the wallpaper previously mentioned as decoration. This lock locks the entire box once closed.
