Africa: “Small Ethiopian shield”, leather decorated with triangles by incisions, diameter 34 cm for a height of 13 cm, probably Amhara. Circa 1900/1920. Thanks to the precious book on shields from the Barbier-Mueller Collection, I found the origin of this spectacular shield. If I am not very fond of weapons, I like the shields that I buy regularly, their incredible variety making them a superb collection theme and magnificent decorative objects...
