"French School, Large Portrait Of A Little Girl From The Charles X Period, Allegory Of Innocence"
French School from the beginning of the 19th century, large full-length portrait of a little girl. Oil on canvas, signed with an SR monogram and dated 1827. The painting is presented in its large original frame, gilded with gold leaf. Our painting is typical of the romantic era, the little girl is presented dressed in a white lawn dress, barefoot in the forest. She carries in the folds of her dress all the treasures she has found in nature: flowers, aromatic plants and snails, and looks with her blue eyes at a songbird that she would like to add to her collection. It is the allegory of childish innocence. Beautiful painting, charming in its freshness, its delicate colors and the theme. Large in size, it is a very furnishing room, full of poetry. The painting is in excellent condition, it was cleaned and restored in 2004. The gold leaf frame was cleaned by our gilder, the original gilding is very well preserved. Dimensions of the frame: 85.5 x 125cm Dimensions of the canvas, 78 x 107cm
