Vermeil Thumb Stamp. Eighteenth Century.
This silver-gilt thumb stamp is set with a carnelian bearing the amusing inscription "I am doing well". The bail is adorned on each side with a flower and it bears the swan hallmark on the ring which is affixed to imported objects or objects checked during their auctions. Period late 18th century. Gross weight 4 grams.
