Model #1343 — one of the largest centerpieces ever produced by the Jensen Silberschmiede — is the most monumental expression of Scharff's formal vocabulary: clean lines, tension between surface and void, negative space claimed as a compositional element in its own right. A piece that transforms any table, console or interior into a collector's space. An absolute statement piece for any exceptional interior — from Düsseldorf to Manhattan.

Allan Scharff (born 1945), Danish silversmith and designer, worked for the Georg Jensen Silberschmiede for sixteen years before establishing his own workshop in Copenhagen. Inspired by the raw beauty of nature, he elevates organic forms to works of art. He designed hollowware, jewellery and watches for Georg Jensen, as well as ceramics and glass for Royal Copenhagen, Holmegaard and Orrefors. In 1993 he received the World Crafts Council Europe Award. He is an associate member of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in London — one of the world's oldest silversmithing guilds — among only 100 foreign members. His works are represented in international museum collections, including the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen.
