A cocktail shaker from Georg Jensen's Pyramid collection, model #774, in entirely hand-wrought sterling silver 925, bearing the square Copenhagen hallmark of the 1933–1944 period — among the most prestigious production years of the Jensen silversmithy.

The piece is distinguished by three elements of exceptional elegance: a crowning finial in the form of a proudly upright cockerel — at once decorative and functional —, a spout of remarkable Art Déco latticework of the finest execution, and the characteristic stepped surface of the Pyramid pattern. A piece that is simultaneously a work of art and a living table object — designed to be used as much as admired.

The Pyramid pattern, designed by Harald Nielsen in 1927 and inspired by the period's fascination with ancient Egypt following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, stands as one of the most accomplished expressions of Art Déco in Scandinavian silversmithing. Harald Nielsen joined Georg Jensen as an apprentice in 1909, became the founder's brother-in-law, and devoted more than half a century to the silversmithy. The Pyramid collection remains one of the most sought-after sterling silver patterns of the 20th century.

Georg Jensen silver works are held among the masterpieces of the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen, as well as in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Koldinghus Museum, Denmark.
