“cupid & Psyche” Pendulum
Finely chiseled gilt bronze clock representing Cupid and Psyche after the sculpture of Casanova.
Both characters have their respective attributes, angel wings for Cupid and butterfly wings for Psyche.
On the terminal an antique lamp and a sword are represented.
On the rectangular base, the bow and the two crowns, one rose and the other of laurel symbolizes the love that touched the couple. Original self-suspension movement signed Japye Frèrse.
Ringtone at the passage of hours and half-hours. Very good quality mercury gilding with a matt and shiny double patina.
Parisian work around 1820.
