"Louis XVI Style Sèvres Porcelain And Gilt Bronze Clock, Decorated With Rams And Putti"
Superb Louis XVI style Sèvres porcelain and gilt bronze clock. Made in the second half of the 19th century. Resting on a richly ornamented and finely chased gilt bronze base, the clock is set within a blue Sèvres porcelain urn. Two putti seated on the base surround the porcelain, which is lavishly decorated with garlands of flowers and flanked by two rams' heads. The clock's rear feet can rotate to ensure the necessary level for the proper functioning of the mechanism. The mechanism runs perfectly for almost 15 days. Please note that the rear door providing access to the mechanism does not have a glass cover. Finally, only minor restoration will be required for the striking mechanism, which triggers without issue but cannot ring because the hammer is detached and will need to be reattached to strike the bell. (See photo 12) The clock is sold with its key.
