Large Italian Stiletto 17th
Beautiful large size Italian stiletto.
The blade of this model completely crosses the entire hilt and ends in a ridge at the level of the pommel. This clearly indicates an old manufacture
BLADE: Solid steel blade, very sharp, of triangular section.. It begins with a ricasso worked in the form of a ball and rings, which correspond to patterns usually encountered on this type of weapon.
The tang of the blade completely crosses the bronze of the hilt. Blade length = 23 cm
MOUNT : The entire mount is in finely worked bronze.
Twisted guard. Quillons ending in the shape of flowers
Grip and pommel in one single piece, the gript is twisted and the pommel represents a blooming flower.
This dagger corresponds to the so-called "Italian" models which were sometimes worn hidden behind the back, at the level of the belt.
The weapon is elegant with a nice patina. It only have to find its place on a desk or in a connoisseur's showcase
