Officer's Horse Hunting Saber - Louis XVI - (1774–1789) - 18th Century

Louis XVI-era (1774–1789) Mounted Hunter Officer’s Saber – 18th century.
Brass hilt with a flat cap, braiding, and a diamond-shaped rivet button; the long-tailed cap is decorated with line engraving.
The joint arch is greatly widened near the cap and forms a right angle with the crossguard, which features curvilinear diamond-shaped flanges.
Straight quillon ending in a faceted pommel.
Tang entirely filigree-worked with copper wire and twisted chain link in brass wire.
Blade tie made of buffalo leather.
Blade with a gray, mottled patina, slightly curved with hollow sides and a flat back featuring a small dorsal groove; single-edged blade.
Blackened leather scabbard with a central dorsal seam and two brass fittings; the pommel ends in a ball, and the chape is cut out with a button and a suspension ring.
