Tokens Boxes Tray, Brass & Silver Marquetry, & Rare Tokens, Vienna Ca. 1840

Very pretty free-shaped tray, with scalloped border, and finely inlaid with a marquetry of stylized leaf garlands in brass and silver. It supports 4 "quadrille" boxes whose lids are also decorated with the same work. Inside these, there are about fifty gilded copper tokens (pomponne), of a rare model, collectors will appreciate! (Almost) very good condition. An inlay, always present, lifts, and will therefore have to be replaced fit it. Tokens' gilding a bit worn, and bottom green paper has been used by age. Requires better cleaning than mine!
Austrian working, probably Viennese, inspired by Boulle marquetry. Circa 1830-40.
