Malay Persian Rug, Iran, 103 Cm X 188 Cm, Hand Knotted, End Of XIXth Century, Very Good Condition

Malayer carpet from Iran of the late nineteenth century around 1880, wool on cotton, looking 103 cm wide for a length of 188 cm.
The wool is particularly soft and shiny making the patterns shimmering, knotting is dense for about 360,000 knots in the M2, making it a thick and comfortable carpet. The decor is very bright, made thanks to vibrant colors, deep red, cream, midnight blue, orange, all enhanced by black.
The decor of the knotted field of tall stylized trees of very flowered lives surrounds a wrought medallion predominantly black whose patterns of right and left have a different design.
Four spandrels highlight the field surrounded by a thin border whose patterns look like "Botehs" type of decor in drops of water found in Iran but also on many Caucasian.
We can notice that the knotter gave pride of place to the field of this carpet giving it large dimensions and minimizing the border to eight cm wide. Malayer carpets are knotted in thick, solid and shiny yarn, dyed with natural dyes, often geometric decorations, we sometimes meet floral decorations. The carpets of this region are also called Hamadan, as well as the carpets Hosseinabad, Bortchalou, or Lilihan.
This model has been restored a long time ago (but remarkably) on the edges, and has slight wear but its wool is very clean and keeps colors of a splendid shine.
This rug has been cleaned professionally and ecologically.
