Chopin : "lavandieres At Auneau" 1925

This beautiful watercolor poses a problem of attribution: if the monogram corresponds to Paul-François CHOPPIN with two "p", painter and sculptor born in Auteuil in 1856, it is here countersigned in the dedication with only one "p" ... Artist's fantasy ? Homonymous ?
Still, the treatment of this watercolor served by a seamless composition showing washerwomen in front of a washing thatched roof on a river is lovely. Watercolor 18 X 26 cm under marie-louise lightly stained, without glass, gilded wood frame 44 X 34 cm typical of the time.
