Lyl (Frenchschool, ca. 1930): “The Conciergerie on the Île de la Cité,” pencil drawing enhanced with watercolor, 13.5 × 27 cm, mounted with a gilded beveled passe-partoutin a modern gilded frame, 28 × 41 cm.

Although the artist (whose signature I’m not entirely sure I’ve deciphered correctly) is unknown, his miniaturist treatment of this view of the Île de la Cité, connectedby its bridges in a slightly pinkish mist, demonstrates a definite talent.
