Light foxing and small oxidation, a fold at the bottom under the tower.
This large watercolor, of a rare format for the Artist, shows us one of the most emblematic sites of the Mediterranean with, stranded, the boats of the fishermen who are busy on it...
If painting was not his main profession (he was a civil servant at the State Railways), he was nevertheless a diligent artist and exhibitor at the Salons, including that of Paris.
His style, characteristic of the time, where the touches of watercolor come to rest, blending into each other, giving a lot of delicacy. Originally from Haute-Garonne (Marignac-Laspeyre), he lived in Agen and Pau and, on the occasion of his death, a commemorative exhibition was organized in Parthenay where he is buried.
