Rare gilded bronze clock finely chiseled, inscription "Station Bomb" on the base, representing a cherub in the cloud of smoke of a barrel, symbolic of fertility (the mortar gives rise to Love in a cloud of smoke), cock movement signed by the clockmaker Charles Le Roy *, Directoire period late eighteenth century. This clock is in good condition. The movement is older than the clock (earlier in the 18th century). It will be revised. Has reported: misses the needles. a rear foot has been repaired, the decor elements move a little in the base, wear and micro-scratches of time, see photos. * Charles Le Roy (1709-1771): master in 1733. He lived rue Saint-Denis (1748-69). He died in Nanterre, was buried in the parish church St-Maurice where we still see his plate. (Extracted Dictionary of the French Horlogers, Tardy).
