Large ceramic lamp signed Les Potiers d'Accolay*, decorated with polychrome glass inlays and perforations in the lower, jug-shaped section, with its resin lampshade featuring fern inclusions, dating from the 20th century. This lamp is in good condition. It is very decorative and in working order (see photos). Note: some minor signs of wear consistent with age, see photos. *Accolay: The term "Poterie d'Accolay" refers to the production of a community of potters based in the village of Accolay, in the Yonne department. This production center was founded by four former students of Alexandre Kostanda. Active from 1945 to 1989, their pottery was distinguished by its great technical inventiveness and extremely prolific output. The potters capitalized on their proximity to the N6 highway by converting service stations into permanent exhibition spaces along the route taken by Parisian tourists. Their showrooms, inspired by the structures of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, became a must-see for holidaymakers passing through. This form of commercialization continued at the entrance to Vermenton until the factory closed in 1989. However, the construction of the Lyon motorway had, for several years, diverted the flow of tourists. The Accolay potters were legally structured under the name "Créations et Expositions de Poteries d'Art Modernes" (CEPAM) on December 25, 1964.
