A Louis XVI clock in white marble and gilded bronze: “Love and Friendship”. The bronzes are very finely chiseled. (French Watchmakers' Dictionary: TARDY) Rich decoration of beading, garlands, interlacing and flowers. It rests on six runners. The movement is with anchor suspension, it features hour and half-hour strikes. The hours and quarter hours are indicated on the enamelled dial in Arabic numerals, the dial bears the inscription: "LEPAUTE, watchmaker of the Roy in Paris" Henry Lepaute, 1854 The plate bears the stamp of VICENTI, medal of silver in 1834 (Dictionary of French Watchmakers: TARDY) Dimensions: L: 25 cm H: 34cm
