Modernist Art Deco-style Clock (circa 1930)

Large Art Deco-era mantel clock (circa 1930), emblematic of the modernist movement of that period. It stands out for its bold geometric design, combining noble and contrasting materials: a wide, rectangular base of blackened wood supports two elegant gilded brass plates, upon which rest polished metal spheres with mirror-like reflections, framed by stylized architectural arches.

At the center, a tinted glass panel in shades of pink and champagne features a curved, basket-handle profile. The hour markers are delicately engraved in transparency around the central dial, revealing the internal brass and steel movement, as well as geometric black metal hands. On the back, the original mechanism retains its period configuration with its exposed electric coil.

The piece features exquisite cabinetmaking, glasswork, and metalwork, characteristic of the avant-garde design of the 1930s. A piece with a striking decorative presence, ideal for enhancing a sideboard, a mantelpiece, or a period piece of furniture. In good condition for its age, with an authentic patina on the metal parts (mechanism untested / in need of servicing).
