17th- Or 18th-century Panel Or Coffered Ceiling
A rectangular panel from a chest or wood paneling dating from the 18th century or possibly earlier. Carved from a single piece of wood—presumably walnut—this panel features a shell-shaped motif in its upper section and a sort of flat column ending in a molded ledge lower down. This panel can, for example, serve as a display stand for an object you wish to highlight. Traces of wood-boring insects are visible. This panel has been treated to prevent their return.
