Ancient Caryatid
This caryatid likely adorned the side of a piece of furniture. In the Renaissance or 17th-century style, it was carved from very hard, high-density oak. It depicts a full-length woman carrying a basket of fruit on her head. A hint of a breast is visible. Her dress is slightly hiked up on one side, above the knee, revealing her calf. In one hand, she holds what could be a scepter, with a bird perched at her feet.
