Circa 1800. Miniature Portrait Of A Little Girl With A Dove
A charming young girl holding a dove in her hand—much like the boy depicted earlier—is the perfect counterpart to him, in the same format, by the same artist, and in a similar setting.
The work is remarkably delicate; it is signed in the margin, but the ink has faded over time, making the short text running along the edge of the piece illegible.
The colors have held up well; the piece as a whole looks very fresh and is in fine condition.
It is presented in its original dark mahogany frame, with a brass border around the glass.
The back appears to have never been opened.
