Alpaca Cigarette Case (silver-plated Imitatation Metal), Circa 1920
An elegant cigarette case made in the early 20th century, already in the Art Deco style, though this geometric design predates the war of 1914.
A light-wood core to protect and dry the tobacco, covered with a snugly fitted nickel silver plate (which imitates silver).
The initials “EA” are discreetly engraved on the lid.
This alloy, alpaca, was very fashionable in the 1920s, perfectly imitating silver.
In very good original condition.
